Project overview
This project will review key developments in the equality and human rights field since 2010, and start a conversation on what are likely to be the major issues and research questions in this area going forward.
In February 2015, the Equality and Diversity Forum will hold a two-day conference, hosted by the British Academy, for around 80 participants including academics, NGOs, lawyers, government officials, and members of key European organisations and networks. They will produce a companion publication and provide an online portal for access to relevant research and materials. We are funding two strands of work, focused on the impact of The Equality Act 2010 and the question of how people’s rights have been affected by recent changes to legal aid and judicial review.
As well as helping researchers and policy leads prepare for 2015 and beyond, the project is a first step towards positioning the EDF Research Network as a knowledge exchange hub for equality and human rights.
