Social policy research for the 2020s: opportunities and challenges | Reception

By Nuffield Foundation

The Nuffield Foundation is hosting a reception featuring a keynote speech from the UK’s National Statistician Sir Ian Diamond on the opportunities and challenges for social research and policy in Scotland and the wider UK. Sir Ian will be joined by Sir Keith Burnett, Chair of the Nuffield Foundation, for audience questions and discussion.

The Nuffield Foundation is an independent charitable trust with a mission to advance educational opportunity and social well-being. We fund social research at universities and other organisations across the UK – last year we awarded research grants totalling £13 million. As an engaged and collaborative funder, we also work to foster connections between the research and policy communities. The evening will be an opportunity to meet others working in social research and policy from across Scotland. It follows an afternoon seminar for early career researchers to find out more about the Foundation’s funding opportunities and we hope many of those researchers will also join us for Sir Ian’s speech and audience discussion.
