Student programmes

Our student programmes - Nuffield Research Placements and Q-Step - provide opportunities for individual students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, to develop their skills and confidence in quantitative and scientific methods. We believe these skills are essential for people to participate fully in a digital knowledge economy.

Together with the ESRC and HEFCE, we are investing £19.5 million over six years in Q-Step, a programme designed to promote a step-change in quantitative skills for social science undergraduates in the UK.

Through our Nuffield Research Placements, we provide opportunities for school and college students to take part in STEM-related research.
