The Elizabeth Nuffield Educational Fund
The Elizabeth Nuffield Educational Fund (ENEF) was set up in 1956 by Lady Nuffield to help women improve their employment prospects through education.
The fund closed in 2008. We no longer make grants to individual women in Higher Education.
We do accept applications for research grants under the theme of Student parents and women’s education. Visit the Apply for funding page to find out what the criteria are.
During its years of operation, ENEF made two types of grant:
-
Grants to individual women in Higher Education to help with the cost of caring for dependents.
-
Grants for research and pilot projects to monitor the changes in student funding and its impact on adult women learners.
The ENEF was governed by a committee, and Sir David Watson was the supervising Trustee.
