Skills development

This course develops an important range of skills that go beyond those required for a traditional science A level. These include:

• communication skills;
• critical thinking skills;
• data analysis and evaluation;
• the ability to develop an argument using effective evidence; and
• research skills.

The course would provide a good framework for the development and assessment of functional skills. The internally assessed work at AS level would provide a good foundation for work on a Level 3 Extended Project.
