Core practicals

PCR and gel electrophoresis at the Life Science Centre One-day practical PCR courses at the Life Science Centre near Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria. These courses support the SNAB course and enable students to complete one of the Core Practicals.

Students work in the fully resourced industrial-standard laboratory alongside scientists,using and applying PCR and Gel Electrophoresis techniques. This helps students develop their understanding of adequate controls, and to develop their skills in working accurately using Gilson micropipettes, programming the PCR machines, and carrying out Gel Electrophoresis.
