The Salters’ Institute Annual Awards Ceremony 2011


This prestigious annual event held at Salters’ Hall celebrates high levels of excellence within the science education sector. This year the Ceremony took place on Friday 18 November 2011. Over 200 guests attended the Prizegiving Ceremony and also enjoyed a buffet luncheon.
We were very pleased to welcome the Rt. Hon. David Willetts, Minister for Universities and Science who presented the Awards at the Ceremony and commented:-
“It’s been an honour to present these awards and join the Salters’ Institute in recognising the science talent we have in our schools and universities.
I have been incredibly impressed by the standard of winners and hope many will go on to be leaders in the science field.”
Awards were presented for the Salters’ Graduate Prizes, Salters’ National Awards for Science Technicians, Salters-Nuffield Advanced Biology Prizes, Salters Advanced Chemistry Prizes, Salters Horners Advanced Physics (SHAP) Prizes, SHAP Teacher Prize, Salters’ City and Guilds Prizes and Salters’ Prizes for Exceptional Achievement in Physical Sciences.
The Winners of the Salters’ National Awards for Science Technicians 2011 were Lorraine Collins, Susan Davis, Karen Gill and Anne Mylchreest.
