Some of our body reactions are deliberate and conscious. Others are automatic ‘reflex’ actions. Catching a dropped object includes an element of reflex reaction.

• Measuring reaction time of a human nerve-controlled reaction
  Measure the speed of a reaction involving nerves: ‘catching a ruler’. See how much it varies within the group and how it is influenced (if at all) by consumption of caffeine.
