The Nuffield Foundation is delighted to announce the appointment of Teresa Williams as Director of Social Research and Policy. Teresa will join the Foundation on 29 October.
Teresa is currently Head of Access to Justice Analytical Services and Chief Researcher at the Ministry of Justice.
She has been a researcher at senior levels in the Home Office, the Government Social Research Unit, and the then-Department of Social Security, among other places. Teresa began her career as a quantitative researcher at the National Centre for Social Research.
The Nuffield Foundation’s Director Sharon Witherspoon MBE said:
“Teresa brings a wealth of experience in commissioning research for policy-makers, and in research design. She was also well-known during her time in the Government Social Research Unit, and more recently at the MoJ, for building relationships with the wider research community, and for her commitment to high quality research and public access to evidence.
"She has clear ideas about the future development of our work in social research and social policy, and will bring a fresh and thoughtful perspective to what we do and how we do it. We are lucky to have someone of her calibre joining us, and are looking forward to the end of October enormously.”
Teresa Williams said:
“The Nuffield Foundation has a reputation for funding influential and innovative projects in social research and policy. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development of the Foundation’s work in this area."
