Dr Colette Bowe and Baroness Onora O’Neill awarded New Year's Honours

Nuffield Foundation Trustee Dr Colette Bowe and former Chair Baroness Onora O’Neill have been awarded New Year's Honours.
Dr Colette Bowe has been made Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to media and communications. An economist by profession, Colette is the Chair of Ofcom, the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, and Electra Private Equity plc. She is a Board Member of Axa Investment Managers, Axa Deutschland GmBH, and the UK Statistics Authority. She is a Governor of Bancrofts School, a Trustee of the Tablet Trust, a Vice President of the Royal Television Society and a visiting Fellow at Nuffield College Oxford. Colette has been a Trustee of the Nuffield Foundation since 2011.
Baroness O’Neill, widely regarded as the country’s foremost moral and political philosopher, has been made a Companion of Honour for services to Philosophy and Public Policy.
Baroness O’Neill was Chair of the Nuffield Foundation from 1997 to 2010 and also a founder member and Chair of the Nuffield Council on Bioethics. She is also former chair of the Human Genetics Advisory Committee, the Inquiry into the Safety of Maternity Services and the Equalities and Human Rights Commission. She has been President of the British Academy, the Aristotelian Society and the Mind Association, and is a former Principal of Newham College Cambridge.
