Dr Colm Harmon and Professor Richard Blundell
Department of Economics, University College London
£69,000 over 2 years
Dr Harmon and Professor Blundell aim to develop a framework for the quantitative evaluation of policies distinguishing between experimental and non-experimental methods of evaluation. The study will examine a range of evaluation schemes aimed at addressing inequality and unemployment and look specifically at welfare, education and training programmes. The Fellowship will allow Dr Harmon to develop his portfolio of skills in cutting edge areas of micro-econometric and labour economics and to widen the scope of his research – which has to date been focussed on the relationship between education and earnings.
