Penny Wright, resource operations manager
Penny graduated from the University of Brighton in 2000. She recently sent the following message to ENEF:
“I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you again for the opportunities you gave me through your fund.
When I was 19, I damaged my spine when I was just about to embark on an undergraduate course. I still tried to complete my first year but I found it very difficult and eventually dropped out. At the age of 27, I wanted to go back to University and start a degree again but could not afford to pay the tuition fees. Thanks to your educational fund I completed my degree and successfully gained a 2:1 in Humanities as a graduate in 2000.
I have recently been promoted to Resource Operations Manager (CRM) for EDF Energy, an international utilities company. Without your assistance I would not have gained the skills and experience in critical analysis nor had the confidence to apply for this position. I currently manage 27 analysts and schedule / forecast for just under 3,000 staff across 5 UK sites.”
