Government policies to raise GCSE Exam Results have limited success?
Wed, 14 November 2007
New research by Professor Jim Taylor and Professor Steve Bradley, University of Lancaster, finds government policies to raise GCSE exam results have had only limited success. Education reforms, introduced between 1992 and 2006 account for only one-third of the improvement in exam results. A copy of the report Diversity, choice and the quasi-market: An empirical analysis of secondary education policy in England, alongwith a summary, is available on the University of Lancaster website. http: //www.lums.lancs.ac.uk/news/gcse-results/
