Living and Caring?

Thu, 18 September 2008

The National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) has carried out research on the effects of unpaid care provision on the lives of older people, on behalf of the International Longevity Centre (ILC-UK). This has been funded by the Nuffield Foundation.

The data for the study was provided by the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA) and explores the lives of older carers in relation to who is cared for (spouse, children, parents), how much care is provided and what the impact is in areas such as income, health and quality of life. Download the report from the ILC-UK website.

A policy discussion paper to accompany the publication, 'Living and Caring for All' is also available.
