Channel 4 is showing a programme on Thursday May 26 highlighting the ignorance and prejudice encountered by people because they are "different". See the review here

This television programme links to a recent grant made to GIRES - the Gender Identity Research and Education Society. The award funds the development of good practice guidelines for the administration of hormonal medication in the treatment of adolescents dealing with gender identity issues. A supplementary grant contributed towards the costs of an international symposium on the issue.
