The Nuffield Foundation

Appointment of Trustee

The Nuffield Foundation is an endowed charitable Trust that supports research and practical innovation in social policy and education.

We are seeking to appoint a Trustee to succeed Sir Tony Atkinson, who is retiring. The position is likely to be most suited to an economist or quantitative social scientist who also has interests in economic or social policy in the UK.

The Foundation sets great store by supporting research that is rigorous as well as innovative and relevant. We are looking for someone who will both lead on the Foundation’s social science schemes and advise Trustees on a range of social science methodologies and research designs, including but not restricted to economic analysis. In addition, the Trustee will contribute to the development of new ideas for substantive work in areas of interest to the Foundation.

We are seeking expressions of interest or nominations of people whom the Foundation might approach. These should be sent in writing to the Director, The Nuffield Foundation, 28 Bedford Square, London WC1B 3JS, or by email to arees@nuffieldfoundation.org by Wednesday 15th October.
