Elizabeth Nuffield Educational Fund
Research into funding available for women in education
Tue, 21 February 2006
To mark the 50th anniversary of the Elizabeth Nuffield Educational Fund, a survey of other funds and trusts supporting women in education has been launched.

Many women contacting the Fund for information about ENEF awards have reported the considerable difficulty they have experienced in finding out about other sources of support for their studies. ENEF has consequently decided to research other organisations funding women in education and training. A number of funds and trusts have been identified and questionnaires have been circulated to them.
The initial aims of the survey are to establish whom these funds support and how much they give in grants or loans; to bring together these organisations to discuss areas of mutual interest; and to explore the possibility of creating a single, easily accessible web-based resource for women seeking funding for educational purposes. The results of the survey are presently being collated, but it is already evident that ENEF is the largest grant-maker in this area.
