Syreeta Kumar, actor

The Elizabeth Nuffield Educational Fund contributed towards my fees on the two-year acting course at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 1996-98.

I had already been working as an actor for seven years and wanted to go to college to improve my skills. When I left College, I joined the Royal Shakespeare Company, and also went on to work at the Royal National Theatre. I have continued to work in theatre and television. I am presently working on Red Ladies with the Clod Ensemble.

I feel attending Bristol Old Vic has enabled me to stay in one of the toughest professions. Whilst there, I also met my partner with whom I have two lovely daughters called Echo and Juno, so thank you very much Elizabeth Nuffield.
