Childcare for Students in Further Education

The issue of childcare for further education students is highly topical. Full funding is essential if the Government’s skills agenda and welfare to work agenda are to be realised. Yet there are concerns that current funding is insufficient and may disadvantage and deter existing and potential students. The Daycare Trust, in conjunction with the Elizabeth Nuffield Educational Fund, has produced a policy briefing on the issues. The briefing, Childcare for Students in Further Education, was launched at a seminar held at the Nuffield Foundation in December.
