Nuffield Foundation Mathematics Education Co-ordinator appointed

Linton Waters has been appointed Mathematics Education Coordinator for the Nuffield Foundation to take forward the Foundation’s work supporting mathematics education. He took up his new post on September 1st.
Linton was a mathematics teacher for ten years pioneering the use of early computers in mathematics classrooms. He was mathematics adviser to several local authorities and, for many years, a regular mathematics book reviewer for the Times Educational Supplement. He has been an active Ofsted Registered Inspector and keen trainer, including for the NPQH. Prior to taking this post, Linton worked with the National Strategies for School Improvement, most recently as Mathematics Programme Director.
Linton sits on the advisory panel for the National Centre for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching, the steering group of the Bowland Trust Key Stage 3 mathematics initiative and other consultative groups. He is keen to share his conviction that everybody can enjoy mathematics
