Nuffield is delighted to announce that Mr Andrew Dilnot CBE is to become one of its Trustees. Mr Dilnot is Principal of St Hugh’s College, Oxford University and a former Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies.

After long debate, in April 2009 family courts in England and Wales were granted discretion to admit the press on a case by case basis. A new paper from the University of Oxford, 'Openness and transparency in family courts: Messages from other jurisdictions' takes a closer look at this decision in comparison to legislative experiences elsewhere.
Opening Family Courts
The largest independent review of education and training for 14-19 year olds in England and Wales since the Crowther Report in 1959 has published its report. A Directorate led by Professor Richard Pring from the University of Oxford carried out this Nuffield-funded review of all aspects of 14-19 education and training. More
