Dr Rhys Jones of the Cardiff Q-Step Centre announces the launch of the Level 3 Pilot Scheme in Social Analytics - 6-8 pm 24 September 2014
Cardiff University plans to run a pilot scheme from October 2014 in using statistics within a social context. The course is suitable for students studying science (biology, chemistry, physics), sociology, psychology, mathematics, geography or business studies in either year 12 or 13. The course will improve the students’ current attainment and enhance their UCAS applications.
The University will deliver sessions 4.30 – 6.30pm (two hours teaching per week) every Wednesday from October to April. For students to be eligible for the course, they would need to have achieved a grade B in GCSE Mathematics and a grade C in GCSE English Language or provide evidence of predicted grades (students in year 11 about to enter year 12) supported by teacher assessments.
The admissions tutor at Cardiff School of Social Sciences will also be available, to give advice for students making applications to courses within the School of Social Sciences at Cardiff University.
